Great. Just great. As if Shinzo Abe and Shintaro Ishihara weren't bad enough, now Tojo's granddaughter is running for parliament.

Dear Japan - WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? I really hope we start to get some international pressure on Japan for its resurgence of nationalism and historical revisionism - this is getting out of hand.

Re: Sigh...
Thu, May 17, 2007 - 1:23 PMAt this point, don't expect anything from anything political, religious, stiff-neck Japanese corporations, and even from Japanese professional baseball teams. They are all utterly fucking hopeless, and I am a native Japanese.
The recent panel discussion revealed to me that Muneo Suzuki, a convicted congressman who had been accused of various "unethical" behaviors in relation to Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was just geneapigged by that powerful ministry to boot him out. When he was being focused by media (who was just satifying the back-door demands by the ministry to paint him black), he was the bad guy and the entire Japan fell for it - just like American fell for war on terror. Suzuki wasn't 100% clean either - guess what, he is a politician in Japan - but lots of accusations were fabricated. Japanese public isn't even aware of that now, because they got other, newer, "threats" to worry about and "scandals" to stick their noses into.
Personally, I would like to be connected with my home country through:
- alternative independent music scene (J-pop? No fucking way)
- Anime
- artistic films
- up-and-coming visual artists
- geek culture
- extramarital sex habbit ;-)
Nothing else interests me about Japan.
Oh, I forgot about Onsen. Hot springs are good in Japan, so is food :-) -

Re: Sigh...
Sat, May 19, 2007 - 5:22 PMat least most of the idiots in Japan don't have guns like most of the idiots in the USofA!!!!
but really-
Japanese people have always lived in a classed, structured and follow the leader system. now with the manipulations & some of the agenda of the American government coming to light no doubt many people will fall back into this loop of pride.
This is not just happening in Japan, ne?
Many of the people I know here can see through this shit. -
